Pet shop
April 27, 2007
I bought my two girl hammies, Waffles and Mumble at the pet shop at Ikano, Damansara so I often go there to get their food supplies, toys etc.
This is perhaps the only day I ever took my camera to the mall, so we decided to take pitchas.

I finally made my way to a Swedish village !
April 27, 2007

As if. If it wasn’t for the lines on the wall, I would look like I was in some Swedish village.
And I look fat. Notice the word ‘look’. I’m not actually fat. The jacket makes me look fat. Honestly.
The orange look is because I put up some glossy orange transparent paper over the flash to act like a filter.
Me and the ducks
April 27, 2007
Have I told you that my fiance is not a good photographer ? Like any other people, he’s just the “point-and-shoot” type. The honest type. The straight type.
Take a look at this shot :

I told him I just want to take the picture of the ducks, but no sir, he said, “It’s expensive, one of us must be in the shot.” And because he decided it was too girlie to include him in the picture with the ducks, I *had* to be in it. The result ? Dark, long shot with the ducks. You couldn’t even see the ducks ! He always takes long shots ! Argh !
And what’s with my face ? I think I knew it was not going to turn up good hence my grumpy face. Haih.
The problem with huge hands
April 27, 2007
My fiance has a pair of huge hands (you should take a look at them). If he was to grab my whole face with one hand if I were laughing at him at any spontaneous funny accidents we had, he could. But the problem with huge hands is they’re too strong if they hold a camera, it would be shaky. Which is why I seldom trust him with my delicate OneStep. For example, this shot :

I have planned the composition perfectly in my head then he volunteered to take it. Of course I couldn’t say no or he’d go sulk. And so we have, ladies and gentleman, the horriby, shaky, true-to-the-heart blurry shot.
My stripey red + black socks !
April 27, 2007
To be honest, I have never put on these pair of socks on any outing. They were long so my legs would be sweaty if I put these on on longer basis. I bought them simply because they looked cute to me. How silly is that ?

And to think that the rubber carpet flooring on my bedroom looks quite cool now. Don’t you think ?
Rupert
April 27, 2007
I went back to my hometown (Sungai Petani, Kedah) and took my Polaroid OneStep camera back with me. But of course, I was having so much fun with my parents that I only took two shots, and both are of my dad’s cat called Rupert :

I already sent another shot of Rupert to Rob. Hope he likes it.
Change of mind
April 27, 2007
I intended to send this shot to my friend’s daughter but I decided that every time I had to part with my Polaroids, it was really hard.

So I kept this shot and sent her a card instead :P
Shutdown Day March 22nd
April 27, 2007
22nd March 2007 was Shutdown Day. It was the day where you are supposed to turn off your computer, go outside and smell fresh air or something that does not require you using the computer.
I woke up early in the morning and went to do my routine car servicing. Here I was at the car workshop :

Then I picked up my fiance and we went to Midvalley Megamall to shop for our wedding. I managed to snatch this handbag and two pairs of shoes :

I believed I was totally dedicated into Shutdown Day until I realized that I was planning my budget using my PDA.

Oops, does a Pocket PC count ?
We got lost in the concrete city of KL…
April 27, 2007
… and found a park amidst the hustle bustle of the busy city.
After attending a friend’s wedding, me and my fiance decided that it would be good to feed our artistic soul that day and we headed to KL to find the National Arts Gallery. I’m sure you KL-ites would laugh at us because believe it or not, till this day, we could not find where the gallery is ! It was funny because I used to visit the gallery during my university years, and when we went over to the area, it was not there ! It was like some vortex had sucked it and it was nowhere to be found anymore. I was baffled.
Anyway, we did find a butterfly park but it was about to rain so we did not go inside. We proceeded to this Museum of Islamic Arts & Culture but devastated since we had to pay RM12 each to enter. We decided it was good to take photos outside.
My fiance was not handy and artistic enough with photography so he took this normal, boring, long shot of me in front of the museum (but don’t tell him I said this shot is boring :D) :

He was lucky I took his photo in this angle that he looked so damn good. He always looks so good in any photos. But notice some of his buttons are undone and showing his belly. Tee-hee.

Bored with the massive traffic in KL, we headed to Putrajaya to feed the fishies at the lake :

Here’s the Putrajaya Mosque for those who do not know :

An outing with my fiance’s family
April 27, 2007
Me and my fiance’s family are rather close because we have known each other for about 5 years. Upon returning from my pilgrimage, my fiance’s parents and little brother came down to Kuala Lumpur and we set off on road trip on two cars (one with my fiance’s brother’s car and another with mine) to Nilai, Negeri Sembilan where they have markets where people can shop for clothes and curtains and furnitures and lots of other stuffs.
I took my OneStep camera as well and spent the whole filmpack in just about 20 minutes. I went crazy.
My fiance while driving on the way to Nilai :

My fiance at the curtain store :

Me amidst all those wooden clocks at one of the stores :

Peekaboo !

Dragon ! If I could afford, I’d buy this dragon. The handiwork is so detailed I fell in love :

Actually I had so much more but because they were of my fiance’s family, they asked for them to keep I couldn’t resist but had to give them away. One was a cute shot of my fiance’s brother and his 6-month pregnant wife, holding an umbrella under the hot scorching sun. The shot was so sweet. Mel (my fiance’s brother’s wife) held it in her hand, and my cost-conscious fiance told her how much every print is worth. With that, her face changed to disbelief and a hint of sadness (with the thought that probably she had to pay for the shot to keep it) so I went, “it’s okay, you can keep the shot.” It now resides on the fridge of her house. I can imagine when the baby is born and old enough to understand, she’d go, “Auntie Zana took this when you were still inside of me !”
To me, those moments are things that makes me would not think twice about giving away some of my shots. :)
